The EBSO has applied for a $5000 grant in support of launching a Junior Color Guard program this year and we need your help!
Starting September 6th, a vote will take place in the Sacramento Regional area to select one educational program for this grant. That program will be ours with all of your help. Sign up on the Raleys Reach website and vote once a day. Push this link to all of your friends and relatives and encourage them to vote. Eureka Union Elementary district and Granite Bay High School PTA organizations need to get the word out as this grant will support a new program that will provide an opportunity for all students in those schools.
This is a competitive program and will feed the Granite Bay Emerald Brigade Marching Band and Winter Guard programs with energetic, talented students who love the arts.
Go to this link, sign up, and vote daily. Post this to your facebook, send email to friends. Get out the vote!

Granite Bay High School’s Emerald Brigade Marching Band and Color Guard is having their annual fall car wash Saturday, August 27th. The event will run from 9 to 5 and will be held in the Tri Counties parking lot at the corner of Douglas and Sierra College in Granite Bay. Car wash tickets - $10 each - can be purchased from any band member, at the event, or on-line in the Store.
The money raised from the car wash will help support the ongoing operating expenses of the Emerald Brigade, including instruments, instructors’ stipends, and parade and field show competition expenses.
The Emerald Brigade consists of an award-winning marching band and color guard, drum line, jazz band, and concert band. Formed in 1996, the program has grown from an aspiring marching band, uniformed in matching polo shirts, to its current glory in full marching splendor. Under the thoughtful direction of Lynn Kulikowski, the Emerald Brigade has just completed its most successful marching season yet, winning the coveted “Grand Sweepstakes Award” in five of the six competitions in which they participated this year in various locations throughout Northern California.
Through the generous support of our community the Emerald Brigade music program allows over 120 students the opportunity to receive an enriched musical education and to experience
personal success through hard-work, dedication and commitment.
For more information on the car wash please call George Sinclair @916-390-6927 |

This coming Friday, November 19th by 2nd period, is the deadline to turn in all of your forms and money if you want to audition for any Honor Bands. The recordings will all be due by 2nd period on Monday, November 29th, the day you return to school from Thanksgiving break. You will not be allowed to turn in a recording for honor bands on November 29th if you haven't submitted your forms and money by this Friday, November 19th. Please submit one check per family made out to " EBSO " for the total sum of all audition fees for each Honor group (i.e., $35 + $45 + $45 = $125 if you're going for all three). The forms are all printable on each of the websites by honor group. Cap Section Honor Band: http://www.cmea-cs.org/ I have confirmed that the refund amount for Cap Section will be $25 instead of $30 that was originally printed on your student application forms. The other band audition fees are non-refundable. All-Northern Honor Band: http://ncbaonline.org/ All-State Honor Band and Orchestra: http://cbda.org/ ***Sidenote for All-State Form: Please go to "Forms & Applications" and then click on the "click here" in the line that reads - “Directors: If you would like to download a blank “Student Application Form” for the purpose of collecting student information, click here. Also, please remember that you only need your parent's signatures on the forms this year; please do NOT get the administration signatures, we will take care of that step for you (so that Mike McGuire isn't inundated with students needing signatures all separately!). Past memos with more details are all on our Honor band page on the Emerald Brigade website, but please don't hesitate to ask me any questions at 88musicbox@gmail.com or at 916-797-4904. Good Luck to Everyone! Musically yours, Mary Suthers Honor Band Coordinator |
